Eggers Middle School
Eggers Middle School is named in honor of Dr. Henry Eggers, a well known physician in Hammond who served as a School Board Trustee. Dr. Eggers was deeply involved with the Civil Rights movement and made it his mission to have a quality school with equal resources in the underserved predominantly Black area of Hammond. His tenacity in this endeavor produced Eggers School, named in his honor, which originally served students in grade K-12. Eggers underwent major renovations in 2001 and currently serves over 800 students in grades 7 and 8. Go Knights!
