Edison Elementary School
Thomas Edison Elementary was originally built in 1920 at 625 Spruce Street, and named after the American inventor and businessman. In 1936, plans to build the new Edison School at 7025 Madison Avenue were undertaken by the Hammond School Board, with the latest renovations completed in 1992. Edison currently houses over 670 students from Head Start through 6th grade. Due to Thomas Edison’s contribution in the field of electric power, our school mascot is known as the Flashes.
