Title IX

Title IX is a federal law that prohibits gender-based discrimination. More information can be found following this link: USDOE OCR. Title IX protections apply to staff and students within the School City of Hammond community. Regulations issued by the federal government outline what qualifies as harassment or discrimination and how schools are required to respond. Gender-based discrimination behaviors may include sexual misconduct, dating abuse or violence, and gender identity harassment. The School City of Hammond also has a specific policy that prohibits gender-based discrimination, which can be found in School City of Hammond Board Docs.

To keep our students, families, and staff informed, the School City of Hammond policy, administrative guidelines, and available resources are provided here.
